Aleph Farms, an Israel-based company, has secured the world’s first regulatory approval from the Israeli Ministry of Health for beef produced through cellular agriculture. This approval represents a pivotal moment in the alternative protein sector. Previously, companies such as Eat Just and Upside Foods had obtained regulatory approval for cell-cultured chicken products in Singapore (2020) and the United States (2023). Aleph Farms can now sell its products in restaurants and retailers in Israel, and the company has also applied for regulatory approval in other major markets.
