A recent study conducted at the University of Chicago suggests that trans-vaccenic acid (TVA) found in beef, lamb, and dairy products may enhance the body’s defense against cancer. TVA is a long-chain fatty acid present in the meat and dairy products of grazing animals such as cows and sheep. While this fatty acid is also found in human milk, the body cannot produce it independently. Among the compounds tested to observe their response to cancer treatments, TVA was identified as demonstrating the best performance.
