Switzerland is known as a world leader in chocolate and coffee consumption. Founded in 2021, the Swiss startup Food Brewer has begun producing these two products in bioreactors. Using cellular agriculture techniques, they cultivate cocoa and coffee independently of tropical regions. The company sources coffee from local resources and cocoa from Latin America, aligning with its sustainability goals. The production processes are carried out in the lab, where biomass is harvested and then roasted. Food Brewer plans to commercialize its products in both the European and U.S. markets.
