According to the State of Food Security and Nutrition in the World (SOFI) report, published by five United Nations expert agencies including the FAO, approximately 733 million people will face hunger. This equates to one in eleven people globally and one in five in Africa. The report warns that the world is significantly behind in achieving Sustainable Development Goal (SDG) 2, Zero Hunger, by 2030, indicating a regression of 15 years and highlighting undernourishment levels similar to those in 2008-2009.
