Swedish agricultural technology startup OlsAro develops wheat varieties that are resistant to environmental stress factors by using artificial intelligence and plant biotechnology. Based on the data obtained in 3-year field trials in Bangladesh, OlsAro states that its first product, the salt-tolerant wheat variety, provides 52% higher yield compared to traditional wheat varieties. The enterprise also continues its work on products that are more resistant to heat, have improved nitrogen use efficiency and reduce dependence on synthetic fertilizers.

Wow Bao Takes Innovative Steps in the Metaverse
Digital restaurant chain Wow Bao continues its efforts to expand into Metaverse and web3. The company announced last week that it was launching Wow Bao on the Roblox platform, following the NFT program it launched a year ago. This is notable as the first example of a fast-food restaurant launching with a loyalty program in the Metaverse. Wow Bao’s presence on Roblox offers users a hot burrito service in the virtual world, beside a loyalty program that offers real-life benefits.

Transition from Walk Out Technology to Dash Smart Baskets
Amazon plans to remove the walk out application used in the large grocery chain Amazon Fresh. Instead of this technology, customers will be offered Dash smart shopping carts. The new carts will provide customers with scanning and other convenience when placing items in the cart. This move signals that Amazon’s grocery business has entered a new era and is reviewing its current strategy. Amazon plans to renovate its stores as it prepares to expand its Fresh locations in 2024.
